LOCATION
The University of Ostrava is a public university in the city of Ostrava of the Czech Republic in Europe. The Czech Republic is ranked 20th in the World Happiness Report 2025 and it is the 17th wealthiest nation in Europe and 45th wealthiest globally with a high GDP per capita of US$ 20,000+ for 2024. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic which is amongst one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Ostrava is a city in the north-east of the Czech Republic and the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is the third largest city in the Czech Republic, well connected both by road and rail services. Ostrava has a population of about 3,00,000 inhabitants and spreads in an area of approximately 215 sq.kms.
UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1991, it is the newest public university in Ostrava. With special focus on research, it has carved a niche for itself in the last many years with highly supportive and renowned teaching staff and a student friendly atmosphere.
The University of Ostrava is ranked in the 1201-1400 range in the QS World University Rankings 2026 that makes it among the best places to study in the world. With 6 faculties, 10,000+ enrolled students (1,100 international students), 650+ teaching staff, centrally located spread out ultra-modern campus, cafeteria, sports centre, library, state of the art laboratories, health centre, counselling & career centre, living quarters, etc.
